CALENDAR

The program’s academic year consists of three independent terms of 11 weeks each. Each term is self-contained and can be taken independently or as part of the series.

Classes take place Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 45 minute lunch break, for an average of 40 hours each week, with studio classes (classroom work led by master teachers) in the morning and workshop sessions (space for both independent devised work and mentors-led tutorials) in the afternoon, for a total of 440 hours each term.

Each term culminates in a public performance created by the students, in collaboration with mentors chosen specifically for the relevant style.

LANGUAGE

The program
is taught in ENGLISH and a basic understanding of this language is required.

Each term is less than 90 days, so citizens of other nationalities that register for one term only, may enter Italy and the  European Union without a Visa.

If you do need a Visa because you would like to register for more than one term, contact us and we will provide you with the information and documents necessary to obtain the visa.

If your country requires an exit Visa, please contact us and we will provide the required documents. Please click here for information for foreigners interested in coming to Italy.

INTERNSHIPS

Often, candidates ask if PadovArts Academy offers internships to help offset the costs of attendance. Each PadovArts Academy term is rewarding and intensive, and most students find that the little time they do have outside of class is best used for research and/or relaxation. As such, PadovArts Academy does not offer work-study opportunities at this time.

SCHOLARSHIPS
PadovArts Academy has several scholarships that make it possible to offer financial assistance to students. We believe that financing the education of the next generation of artists is essential, and the list below details the scholarships that are currently available. All scholarships are given in the form of partial or complete tuition remission. Requests for assistance are due with the application to the program.

To apply for a scholarship, please upload the following material at the time you submit your application.
Requests must be received by the application due date in order to be considered.

THE NOVICE SCHOLARSHIP
Established as a way to encourage young artists of diverse backgrounds to explore the world of physical theater. The Novice Scholarship is given to select artists under the age of 30, regardless of previous training or area of interest. Applicants are required to submit an essay detailing their previous experiences in art making and their future goals.

THE “MID CAREER” SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is intended for working professionals who have already received notable success in their chosen field. Applicants must submit relevant materials documenting previous accomplishments.

THE ENSEMBLE SCHOLARSHIP
Established to encourage students already working in an ensemble to apply and attend the terms together, The Ensemble Scholarship reduces the tuition for each student applying who is admitted and part of an already existing ensemble. At least one other member of the ensemble must also be applying and be admitted to the program at the same time. Relevant materials must be submitted documenting the work of the ensemble.
